My World and Welcome To It, based on the life of James Thurber. William Wndom played the writer/father and (the girl who later played phylis's daughter on Mary Tyler Moore show) played the daughter. I was young but liked the show, too bad no one else did.

I am search for the same thing believe it or not. I recall the show opening with the illustrator drawing the house and I think a gitl riding a bike. The man wore a tan trench type coat at type or maybe often, like a london fog. I may be wrong about this and I have search it in depth to no avail, but the man looked like a young William Windom. It was him and his daughter, I think the mother had passed or something. I was young when it was on, late 60's early 70's.

I've been looking for this TV series as well. I finally located it when I suddenly recalled that William Windom played the Cartoonist. The series was "My World and Welcome to It" which debuted on NBC on September 15, 1969 and ran until March 6, 1970, (26 Episodes). According to TV.com "This was a half-hour situation comedy based on the writings of humorist and cartoonist James Thurber, and episodes of the show incorporated stories and cartoons by Thurber." The cast featured Windom as well as Lisa Gerritsen, Henry Morgan, Joan Hotchkis, and Harold J. Stone.

This might well be "My World, and Welcome to it". Starred William Windom back in 1969. He had a daughter in the show and this program was part animated.

I am looking for this show from my childhood as well. I don't recall it being "dark" maybe "dry" is more apt as it was a family series.
I am wondering if it were only a pilot but it's driving me crazy!

I think it was called "Wait till your father gets home". For some reason, I remember that theme song with that show.

I'm so glad to see someone else is looking for this information, too!
I've remembered bits and pieces about this show since I was a child... but I can't find out anything about it.

I remember this show and I have tried to find the answer as well. I was just watching Airport with Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin. In this movie the girl playing Burt Lancaster's daughter was the daughter in this show. She had braids and braces I think also.

Could this be "My World and Welcome To It" I remember little about the plot other than the father was a cartoonist and the daughter was played by Lisa Gerritsen who also played Bess in the Mary Tyler Moore Show and guest roles in the Odd Couple.
