That is Jeri, and she was indeed one of the regular Action Kids dancers.  On many episodes of the show, the dancers wore white tee shirts with their names across the front in dark lettering.

Her name was Jeri Lynn Stapleton one of the Action Kids from the beginning.  Also the first summer Joy Ciro and Jimmy Hibbard were Action Kids.  I used to watch the show all the time as a kid.

My ancient computer will not display the video.  I was fascinated by Lesley Evans and she was much as you described the mystery dancer.  She had darkish hair, a great smile and a haircut above her shoulders with a slight turn-up at the jaw line.  She was a ray of sunshine and made me wish I were a West Coast boy.  Bless her where ever she may be.

The dancer with the black shirk, white headband and boots is Jeri Lyn one of the Action Kids.  That was my favorite show back in the 60's.

Re: Where The Action Is - Dancers

Yep! My growing up yrs! It was sort of a hobby to seek out people in the music arena to get their authographs. That link is no longer available but I did find a different video. I believe the female dancer with the long dark ponytail's name is Jeri Lyn. I don't think it was a headband she wore but a deco for her ponytail. Don't know how I remember...guess because she didn't look like the others...she had a Mediterranean look about her & she was shorter & cuter than the other female dancers & I thought her hair was cool looking. I also remember Pete Menefee, Dave Williams, Roger Minami. I also met Gary Lewis when they took the show on the rosad - I told him he's funnier than his dad - he told me "thank you." Lesley Evans looked like (I think)current actress Dana Delaney

I remember hearing Mark Lindsay (or possibly Dick Clark?) in an interview respond to a question about Jeri Lynn. I did not hear the entire conversation, but he alluded to the fact that she had met a sad fate. I would also like to know what happened to her- she was a great dancer, and I remember her well. She was very petite and energetic.

Glad to hear I'm not the only person still  interested in the Action Kids. Jerilyn Stapleton is a member of NOW in California.  If you Google her name there is a speech she gave where she mentions she is a survivor of domestic violence.  Lesley Evans appeared in some TV (Mash, Lucille Ball's show and the movie Shampoo since Action). Roberta Tennes was in Elvis movie Clambake.  Also to correct an earlier post, it wasn't Dave Williams but Mike Williams.

I was and still am a fan of this show and know for sure that Jeri Lyn was the only long haired brunette who always wore her hair with a white hair band. Wish I knew what happened to all of the dancers from that show!

Where the action is : Lesley, one of the dancers was the main reason that I watched the show. Thank you Lesley where ever you are for that beautiful smile.

The tiny dancer with the long brunette ponytail is Jerilynn Stapelton, who was on the show the entire time. She usually also wore a headband...

         Thanks,

I`m a true member of the tv generation! I grew up doing my homework while watching the classics of the 60`s and 70`s and today, they are still my favorites. I have a big library of tv and film reference books at my disposal, as well as a large video library. My memory is pretty darn good too, and when that fails, I can hit the books and/or videos, not to mention a few friends who are as devout tv gen members as I am. Please note that my expertise is with American tv only.
