AboutMarcia Studley Expertise I`m a true member of the tv generation! I grew up doing my homework while watching the classics of the 60`s and 70`s and today, they are still my favorites. I have a big library of tv and film reference books at my disposal, as well as a large video library. My memory is pretty darn good too, and when that fails, I can hit the books and/or videos, not to mention a few friends who are as devout tv gen members as I am. Question My other half is seeking a series that he believes aired in the late 90s, which had an "old west" setting and tended to feature an investigator a-la Sherlock Holmes who "invented" many modern forensic techniques in order to solve crimes.
Any ideas?

How about Peacemakers from 2003? It was on cable and only lasted a shortwhile, but it matches your description. Here's the desciption from imdb.com:

If that's not it, let me know, and I'll search some more! I will say that one of my thoughts was a much older series, but it didn't deal with forensics but with law enforcement -- Hec Ramsey with Richard Boone.
