Question I would like to know if there is a correlation between weight and temperment. I seem to much more jovial when I am heavy in my weight. When I trim down in weight and am physically fit I become much more aggressive. I don't chuckle as much and am more prone to lash out.
Thanks,
Chub (male - 45)
Answer It is a question I have to admit I have never heard before.
Here is what I CAN tell you.
In August of 2006 the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics made the following statement when dealing with infants.
"Difficult temperament has been associated with fast weight gain and slow weight gain, although the latter mostly in referred subjects studies in late infancy. The current study set out to investigate early weight gain in relation to all domains of temperament in a community-screened sample. Weight gain from birth to 8 weeks was assessed in 75 infants recruited from local health care clinics who had demonstrated slow, average, or fast weight gain."
But, I am not aware of any such research on adults and I've never of the reverse correlation that you suggest.
BUT, it is an absolutely fascinating concept and I will be looking into it.
