Question
I'm preparing a short story based in Tennessee and was wondering if there was any areas in Tennessee that haven't changed in over a hundred years. I've described a mountainous region out in the middle of nowhere where people vanish and the closest towns are small and far apart. Is there anywhere like this I can use as a base of reference?

Answer
William:

You win the prize for the most fascinating question that I've ever been asked!

I have a couple of areas in mind but I'd appreciate a day or two to mull it over.  Please send me your e-mail address for a personal reply.  Mine is jyares@aol.com.

Also, if you could give me a flavor of the story line and when it takes place, that would be helpful (I'm not a writer and I'd never divulge your idea).
