Question
Sir, i'm a girl of 16 yrs old and want to become a good tennis player..
Can u please suggest me some exercises, stretching or some workouts... ? So that it can help me in my practice...

Answer
Dear Kaushambee,

Thanks for your question.

For stretching and exercises, search the web for those things.

For workouts on the court, you can set up a shuttle ball run.

Place tennis balls at the corners of the singles sideline and service line and also at the singles sideline and the baseline and another where the service line and center service line meet.  Then put your tennis racquet at the very center of the baseline.  Time yourself or have someone time you while you run to pick up each ball and bring them back to your racquet and place them there gently without them falling off.

Your times should improve every few weeks.

On-court workouts should slowly include all five dimensions of tennis:

1.  Get it in.
2.  Direction
3.  Depth
4.  Spins
5.  Power

For instance, you can start by hitting the ball down the line and crosscourt.   Then work on alternating between down the line and crosscourt.  Then put some sort of pressure on yourself by doing so on the move, having someone else tell you which way to hit the ball, having to hit in a certain amount within a certain amount of time, etc., etc.   Then you can do the same things with different depths and spins and power.  Just by varying things a little bit, you can come up with dozens of drills for your tennis game.

Good luck.
