About Dathaeus Expertise I can answer any questions about tennis except most personal habits of the ATP and WTA pros. So my knowledge includes etiquette, improving your game in every aspect possible, including more power or consistency to serve and strokes, technique, mental game, physical training and preparation, diet, strings and stringing, etc, etc. Also please keep in mind before you ask me any questions on rackets that it is near impossible for me to help you in this category unless I know your game and even then, there are hundreds of rackets out there that can suit anyone`s game. I will simply suggest you demo a few Wilson rackets where I am sponsored, and that`s the best I can do there.
Experience I have been teaching since I was 17 years old, and have been a professional stringer since I was 16. I have taught and still teach all levels, from beginners to tournament players, as well as serving as a professional hitter for some of the top players in the East. I continue to play men's open tournaments whenever I have time, and am the master stringing professional at my club. I also follow the ATP tournaments, but not in detailed fashion anymore.
Question Iam 50 years now. I started playing tennis just a year back, but i love this game and is determined to improve the game further . Initially i started with racquet of 275gm. Now i had ordered two racquets of Wilson n code n blade oversize ( 325 g ) and Prince classical graphite oversize (345gm)
my questions are
1) Is there any recommened racquet weight for 50 years.
2) I get pain in the knee joint in spite of using knee cap.
Do you have any comment about the racquet and my problem.
Answer Hi and thank you for asking.
1) Weight is all about personal preference. Basically, you want to use the heaviest racquet you can handle without straining yourself after playing for a while. However, the feel of the racquet is also very important, so test them always before buying.
2) Pain the the knees is a common problem if you had any injuries or if you play on hard court a lot. Knee pain is best taken care of by going to see the doctor and if suggested, a physical therapist as well. Knees are very fragile, and if you cannot play because of bad knees, you need to go see your doctor or orthopedist.
Hope this helps.
