Question If a player hits a ball say in a return of serve and the ball travels over the net but the wind is so strong that it never lands on the other side but comes back to their side of the court, who wins the point?
Thanks
Answer Jason,
Unless the opponent volleys the ball when it crosses the plane of the net, it's their point. The return must hit in the opponent's court or be struck on their side of the net. It would be no different than a lob that never reached the opponent's court even though in may have crossed the plane of the net but was blown back.
