About Beth Adams
Expertise
I have 10+ yrs rescuing Cairn terriers. Ask me about rescue work and re-homing rescued terriers. I am also proudly owned by a Jack Russell Terrier rescue. I am also keenly aware that terriers are significantly different from other kinds of dogs, and often not the best choice for some owners. HOWEVER I AM NOT A VET! PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME IN-DEPTH MEDICAL QUESTIONS THAT SHOULD BE DIRECTED ONLY TOWARDS MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. I WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST WITH BASIC MEDICAL QUESTIONS/NEEDS THAT I CAN OFFER MY PERSONAL OPINION ON. If you ask me questions about breeding, please expect me to be direct about my opinion on this topic.

Experience
10+ yrs owning and rescuing cairn terriers. Proudly owned by a Jack Russell Terrier rescue. My JRT is active in being a foster brother, and earthdog and agility events and we're having a blast

Terriers - Yorkshire Terrier

Expert: Beth Adams - 4/22/2009

Question
Hi. I have a yorkshire terrier that is about 3 months old and just threw up a yellow bile yesterday twice. It went to sleep right after it threw up and didn't eat that much since. Today that dog seems fine, but I was wondering what would the cause be for it throwing up yesterday? Does that mean that it ate something bad?

Answer
Mai -

Please keep a close eye on your baby today. A pup that small just does not have the resources to be ill for very long without serious consequences.

The other issues is that baby puppies have so many things that can go wrong, that it's not a good idea to wait too long hoping she will just get better.

If she is fine today, she probably had an upset tummy for some reason, and should be fine. However, if she isn't pottying as much as normal, isn't drinking or eating, or has a significant loss of energy, please take her to the vet.

I am not a vet, and so certainly can't make any kind of diagnosis.

I sure hope your little baby is all better.

-Beth
