Dear Dr. Solomon;



I am glad to have stumbled on this page and I hope you can answer my question and maybe refer me to documentations with more details. I woud like to know the scientific/technical explanation of the advantage of using the hyperboloid shape for natural draft cooling tower. Is it a larger application of the nozzle effect in fluid dynamics or simply for structural stability.
