About Robert Arnone, DC
Expertise
I can answer any questions regarding Thyroid Trouble either Hypo or Hyper. I can also explain to you how this may have happened to you and more importantly how you can get well.

Experience
I have helped many women and some men with Thyroid Conditions. Most of them were able to get completely off of the harmful medications that weren't correcting the cause of their problem anyway. If all of these people were able to get well, then why not you too? I may be able to find you a qualified Upper Cervical Specific Doctor in your area to help locate and correct the cause.

Thyroid Problems - Post total thyroidectomy

Expert: Robert Arnone, DC - 2/9/2009

Question
I am 11 months post total thyroidectomy. Over the past 3 months I have been experiencing a slight pressure (like if someone is gently poking my esophagus) right where my thyroid was and this is constant. I also feel like I have a lump in my throat everytime I swallow. At times, certain foods will not go down and I can lightly cough and bring them right back into my mouth. I am worried since I was totally over my postoperative symptoms that normally occur with a TT and this has started 8-9 months after my surgery. Any suggestions as to what this might be and what might be causing this?  Thank you so much for your time.

Answer
Tracy,
I apologize but I am really not the best person to ask this question to.  I am more in the business of helping patients to keep their Thyroid intact and to improve their health and get off of the medication.  I do not have a lot of experience with the after effects of having your thyroid removed.  I will tell you what I tell everyone: Once you remove or alter what God had given you, there is always a price to pay for it.  You probably want the ask the doctor that did the surgery as he would be in a much better position to tell you what you should expect from this point forward without a thyroid gland.
