Thyroid Problems/thyroid nodules
Expert: Robert Arnone, DC - 3/11/2009
QuestionWhen I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child my ob-gyn found a nodule on my thyroid during my initial visit. I had a sonogram and then a biopsy to rule out cancer. I found out I had 2 nodules and no cancer. The nodules do not affect my thyroid numbers. So far I have been to 2 different endocrinologists and both offer different options. Drugs to shrink them or surgery and then drugs for the rest of my life. neither can tell me WHY I developed these nodules and both disagree with each others solutions. My mom and her mom had these nodules and my mom said she saw a chiropractor and they went away. So my question is: Is it possible for a chiropractor to shrink these because the other options don't seem too good. please help me!
Answerpatient,
Every single patient is different and really the only way that any doctor really knows what will happen is to try it and see. I completely agree with you that the other 2 options are not very good at all and so I would get that far out of my mind for awhile.
I agree with your Mom but please understand that the chiropractor is not intentionally shrinking the nodules, he or she is merely correcting the interference to the nervous system and allowing the body to function properly once again. The nodules shrinking is merely the effect of the body functioning correctly again, Does that make sense to you?
If you already have a great chiropractor that you know and trust then go for it right away! If not, you can send me your town and state so I can find you a cervical specialist in the chiropractic profession that can help you.
