I have helped many women and some men with Thyroid Conditions. Most of them were able to get completely off of the harmful medications that weren't correcting the cause of their problem anyway. If all of these people were able to get well, then why not you too? I may be able to find you a qualified Upper Cervical Specific Doctor in your area to help locate and correct the cause.

Thyroid Problems - Thyroid Hair Loss

Expert: Robert Arnone, DC - 4/16/2009

Question
I have had rapid thinning of hair all over head in the last 6 months. I have no history of hair loss in my family and have always had very thick hair. My hairs normal texture is curly and wavy but during the past six months it has become completely straight. My father and his brothers all have full heads of hair and so does my mother. I do have a strong history of hypothyroidism including my mother and both grandmothers. I went to have my thyroid tested and the result came back normal within the .5 - 4.5 TSH reference range. I have done research online and have found that there is controversy as to where this range should be. It was interesting because my TSH level was 3.28 which is just out of the .1 - 3 range which has been argued to be the appropriate reference range for TSH level. Along with my hair thinning rapidly I have increased flaking and dryness on my scalp. My scalp is constantly flaking, itchy, and producing dandruff. Also my hair no longer seems to accumulate grease or become oily like it used too. I have never had dandruff in the past and my hair always used to become greasy and oily after a few days. Now it ceases to do so after a few weeks. I have tried special strength dandruff shampoo, but it doesn't seem to help at all. It is as if my scalp is not producing the proper oils or sebum anymore. I have also noticed that the hairs that do come up out have a small white clump on them which looks like dead skin. Along with this I seem to be losing the density of my eyebrows. The hairs fall out 3-5 at a time very easily and I have definitely noticed a loss in volume of my eyebrows. Although the loss is more on the inner most part of the eyebrows as opposed to the outermost which is correlated with hypothyroidism. The loss of hair is very distressing to me and I would like to know if my symptoms are indicative of Hypothyroid.

Answer
Michael,
It is very possible that you may have Hypothyroidism, because one thing that you need to know right now is that although there are common signs and symptoms, everyone is different and may express their destruction in different ways.
What I would say to you is that regardless of what you call it, your body is breaking down, and unless you locate and correct the cause of your ill health, you will only continue to get worse.
Here is a little tip for you:  Drugs and surgery do not correct the cause they only mask the symptoms as the patient continues to get worse.
Yours in Best Health,
