Question
What is the difference between hyperthyroidism and thyrotoxicosis

Answer
Hello Naseem,
Warm welcome to you!
Most of the times terms 'hyperthyroidism' and 'thyrotoxicosis' are used synonymously. But in medicine hyperthyroidism is type of thyrotoxicosis. Other types are few types of thyroiditis and hyperthyroxinemia.
But hyperthyroiroidism is more often used to get more generalised(broad) meaning. In all the conditions the activity of thyroid/thyroid hormones is increased.
