Question
If my daughter has thyroid issues, it's probably Hasimotos.  Would that mean she would need to look out for getting other autoimmune diseases? Is that the norm to have other autoimmune diseases?  Thank you so much.

Answer
Lauren
We can not confirm Hashimotos just by presence of antibodies
Hshimotos patients have characteristic feature of swinging between hypo and hyperthyroid states
So their TSH values are highly fluctuating
We have to study the pattern of changes of TSH in your daughter then we can confirm whether its hashimotos or just subclinical hypothyroidism
No need to worry about other auto immune diseases now
its true these patients are predisposed to other auto immune diseases but it depends on their lifestyle
So tell her to avoid processed foods MSG and goitogenic foods
Avoid anxiety n taking tension

Thanking you
