Question
Hi im kinda worried right now cus my endocrinologist said that i should remove my left throid gland cus the result of my ultrasound said that i have a solid nodule which measures 4.1X______cm (cant remember exactly the figures) with tiny calcifications and right lobe is normal. TSH is normal. i want to know if its possible to cure this goiter with medicines w/o having to go under the knife?im kinda scared hope u can help..

Thanks in advance

Answer
i think the doctor suggest that because the ultrasound is thought to be high risk for cancer.but if you'd like, ask for FNA first.if it's benign, it's up to you to take it out or not.but by this size of nodule, maybe not regress so much by medication.
