Question
Hi, I am a 35 yr old female who has had symptoms of depression, high anxiety, sweats, loss of memory, the list goes on. I recently was put on Zoloft 3months ago.  I have been having problems swallowing and I also have swollen lymph nodes in my nostrils, tip of mouth, groin area.
I had an ultrasound on my thyroid after an appt w/ reg MD which states:
Sonographis evaluation of thyrod gland demonstrated each lobe to be enlarged measuring 5.5 cm in long axis.
Multiple small cysts are noted in the right lobe-majority which measures 3-4 mm in diameter.  There is also a solitary heterongeneous solid nodule in the lower pole measuring 1.7 x 1.3 cm in diam. Small 6mm cyst noted in the lower pole on left.

What am I supposed to think?  I cannot get in to see an endocrinologist for 3 wks. There are only 5-6 in my area.  I am a little concerned but trying not to speculate.

Thanks!
Renee

Answer
your symptoms can be thyroid problems.
but i'd rather think it's psychiatric problem and zoloft is useful.does it help?
any way, thyroid function test maybe in charged to rule out thyroid disease.

about your ultrasoud, i think it's might be indicated to do a biopsy, as it sounds to have some risk for malignancy.don't be confused, this is not associated to your symptoms, but associated to your swollen lymph node.
