Question I have a hard cyst on the left side of my neck and I also have a sore throat, swollen tonsils and ear ache all on the left side. Is this all a result of my thyroid? Ive been to the doctor and all they are prescribing me is penicillin. Any suggestions on what I should do?
Answer this shouldn't be resulted from thyroid problem.
it's pharyngitis and be evaluated as bacterial cause.
for pennicillin, it's enough, but nowadays, we have to beware about resistance.so if you don't have improvement in 3 days after take it , you would ask for a new antibiotics.
for your ear ache, if it's so severe or have hearing loss, you should beware of otitis media,which can resolve itself, but sometims need antibiotics.so if your ear ache not improve, your fever is persistent, also you need another antibiotic.
