Question
i had thyroid surgey 6 yrs ago i have been gaining wieght unfeeling well lately my calcium levels 11.5 and my para thyroid level is 47 can this be my problem.can it be fixed and will the weight problem go away'

Answer
you 're probably having hypothyroidism, can be corrected by hormone replacement, so go back to your doctor who do the operation.your calcium level is high.but pth is in normal limit.this can be corrected, but i think if you don't have symptoms, like fatique, anorexia , nausea/vomitting , you can re-check the level at some interval.are you taking any calcium supplement? decrease some dose maybe useful.
