Thyroid Problems/thyroid problem???
Expert: Karen Brawner - 3/3/2004
QuestionFirst let me thank you for your time.I'm 31,5'6,130 lbs.I drink and smoke but am pretty well "fit" by most people's standards.A family member I talked to mentioned my symptoms may be related to my thyroid so I thought I would ask.My problem is my feet. They sweat all the time. This started a few months ago and has gotten much worse in the last few weeks.I can take a shower, put on clean socks and shoes and within 30 min feel my feet sweating. It has gotten bad enuff that they are raw all the time.I've tried several different sprays but they basically just try to mask the odor. The only time they do not sweat is when I'm barefoot. The only other symptom that might relate to this is a strange "coldsweat"I get at different times that never lasts more than a couple minutes.I work in a very warm environment but have never been a "sweater" so my feet sweating has really been a surprise.Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks.
AnswerDear Derek, Sweating like you are talking about could be related to several different medical conditions.... Some are Diabetes, circulatory problems (undiagnosed heart or artery or blood vessel problems), liver problems etc....
I would STRONGLY suggest that you see your doctor and have some blood work done to check your liver, check for diabetes, etc....
I in no way can make a diagnosis over the internet, but you definately have a probelm... It this is diabetic related, then you need help.... Cold Sweats is often a symptom of cardiac problems and diabetes....
Thank you, karen
