About Vicharn Lipisuwanchote Expertise I'm a 5th year medical student and I have Graves' disease. I can help you with information. I also welcome all other medical problems.
Question I had an ultrasound done in October. Then Endocrinologist never really explained it to me. She just said have your primary care Dr. give you another ultrasound in a year.
Here are the results.
The right lobe of the thyroid measures 2.5x1.7x0.8 cm. There are two hypoheteroechoic sold nodules in the right lobe. One measures about 7mm in diameter. The other measures about 8mm in diameter. The left lobe of the thyroid measures 2.1 x1.3x0.8 cm. It has a mildly heteroechoic texture , but no focal nodules are identified in the left lobe. The thyroid isthmus measures 3 mm in thickness and also appears heteroechoic.
Impression: heterogeneous thyroid with two solid nodules in right lobe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Answer nothing to worry about.
your risk of malignancy is evaluated low.
but a repeated ultrasound is to make sure it's not a growing tumor.
if you're concerned, you can ask for a repeated in 6 months, which is little more safe, but may have cost-benefit disadventage.
