Question
Hi Raphael,

I've heard that the largest captive lion is Simba. He weighs 375 kg.But, I couldn't find his data: body length, total length, shoulder height, girth etc... This web site seems to contain some info on Simba data(on the lion page):

http://big_game.at.infoseek.co.jp/predator/predator0.html

But it's in japanese and I dont understand. If you manage to find data on Simba here or somewhere else, could you tell me? Thanks!

Also, in Rowland Ward's record of big game, there's 1 record of a Hermaphrodite tiger/tigress killed in South india in 1941 by M. D. Goring Jones. It's 3.04 m long, 94 cm tail and weighs 318 kg. But the bizarre here is it's a hermaphrodite. Do you know why tigers get hermaphrodite, and is there any other hermaphrodite tiger/cat you know of?

Thanks Raphael!

Answer
Hello there Ma,

1)Well, Simba is indeed one of the most heavy lions in captivity, however i don't think he is the heaviest lion of them all. I have heard and seen reports and articles of 800, 900lbs Lions, however unfortunately, I lost them. I believe that there were other lions heavier than Simba, however Simba is indeed one of the largest lions in captivity.

Anyway, your Link doesn' work and i can't get to the webpage. I also do not have much information on Simba, the only thing i have currently is a picture of him, here: http://www.imagewoof.com/view_image/b6d66945/Simba3.jpg

2)Yes, that Tiger sure bizarre, and Hermaphrodite Tigers are extremly rare, and that tiger is the only Hermaphrodite Tiger i have of.

Many animals are Hermaphrodite by nature, however since Tigers are usually not and this occurs very very rarely, they don't have a reason for hermaphroditing or else there would have been many Hermaphrodite tigers to date, however as you and i know, this is the only one we heard of.

Please feel free to clear anymore doubts with me.
