Time-Shares/Timeshare debt

Question
We purchased a timeshare in 1991. In 2002 we paid that years maintenance and included a letter to end the contract (returning the timeshare to the management company).

We never heard anymore form them until this summer when we suddenly got a demand for maintenance fees from 2003 to 2009. In addition a lot of late payment fees have been added.

We have been advised by the company that the contract cannot be cancelled and all these charges need to be paid. As we have not received a bill or paid since 2002 we were wondering if we could consider this contract at an end through the statute of limitations?

When I wrote to the management company earlier querying the bill, I just got a new bill with a further late payment charge added and no reply to my query.

Many thanks for any help at this stressful time

Answer
Hi Greg,

Turning a timeshare back over to the timeshare company can be done with some assistance from a company that specializes in this service.  We are a consumer rights group that has done the necessary research to be successful in getting owners out of their timeshare by utilizing a title transfer.  If you would like more information, please contact me directly.

Kind Regards,
