Time-Shares/getting rid of a timeshare

Question
I have 2 timeshares that my ex and I purchased quite a few years ago. We split and our agreement was that she would pay for them and in return I would pay for other things. Well, she ended up filing bankruptcy and the past due mortgage along with the unpaid maintenance fees came back on me. I have put them up for sale and I have paid the mortgages for almost a year now. I am now getting collection notices for maintenance fee's that I didn't even know were out there. These things are a money pit!! Can you please help me get rid of them?

Answer
Hi CJ,

The timeshare company will lead you to believe that you have no other option but to pay them or have them foreclose on you, destroying your credit.  The Owners' Advocate was created specifically for people who have been misrepresented at the time of sale and are in a situation like yours where they simply can't use the timeshare or have come to find they can't afford it.  There are many different forms of misrepresentation that generally occur during sales presentations to encourage you to buy.  Please contact me and I would be happy to review the specifics of your situation with you.

Kind Regards,

Expertise

I can answer questions about cancellation of a timeshare or vacation ownership whether it is a recent purchase or a purchase that is 20 years old. I can offer assistance regardless of where you live or where you purchased, including Mexico. Regardless of whether or not your are paid in full or still making payments I am able to assist you in getting out of your timeshare. I cannot answer questions in regard to resale or rental income.

Experience

I currently work for The Owners' Advocate, a consumer rights advocacy group representing timeshare owners who have encountered fraud or misrepresentation, or simply want to be out of a timeshare that is paid in full. Previously I worked in the timeshare industry for several years as a Quality Control Manager. As a QCM I reviewed the paperwork with clients and answered any questions at the time of sale. In addition, I assisted clients with issues, questions, or cancellations that arose after the purchase.

Education/Credentials
I have a Timeshare License and previously held a Real Estate License. I also worked for a Title Company as a Closing Coordinator.
