About Kate Morgan
Expertise
I can answer questions about cancellation of a timeshare or vacation ownership whether it is a recent purchase or a purchase that is 20 years old. I can offer assistance regardless of where you live or where you purchased, including Mexico. Regardless of whether or not your are paid in full or still making payments I am able to assist you in getting out of your timeshare. I cannot answer questions in regard to resale or rental income.

Experience
I currently work for The Owners' Advocate, a consumer rights advocacy group representing timeshare owners who have encountered fraud or misrepresentation, or simply want to be out of a timeshare that is paid in full. Previously I worked in the timeshare industry for several years as a Quality Control Manager. As a QCM I reviewed the paperwork with clients and answered any questions at the time of sale. In addition, I assisted clients with issues, questions, or cancellations that arose after the purchase.

Education/Credentials
I have a Timeshare License and previously held a Real Estate License. I also worked for a Title Company as a Closing Coordinator.

Time-Shares - Desperatly need out of timeshare and can't seem to find honest help

Expert: Kate Morgan - 7/1/2009

Question
Hi,
My wife and signed a timeshare contract for a deeded timeshar with orange lake resort and country club in orlando on our honeymoon. The sales pitch was high pressure full of to good to be true promises and misreprensntations. Some of these include our 2009 vacation paying for vacations for the rest of our lives, the fact that if we didnot want the timeshare in the future it could be rented or sold easily, that it was an investment and so on. The largest misrepresentation was that we were not told there was a 10 day grace period to cancel, we were in fact told that the moment we signed everything was final and irreversable. We cannot afford this timeshare, and cannot find honest help getting out of it. I do not want to pay any company upfront money, as I am afriad they will prove most unreliable.
What can i do?

Answer
Hi Josh,
It is possible to get out of a timeshare based upon fraud or misrepresentation. The Owners' Advocate is familiar with timeshare contracts and has a proven track record of getting these contracts cancelled.  We specialize in assisting timeshare owners who feel they have been a victim of fraud at the time of purchase or since discovering what they purchased is not the same as what was presented at the time of sale.  If you would like to explore this option, please contact me.
