Finally, what we are doing has never been done before. I am a Time Share Sales Trainer, and the fact that this subject and profile has received the worldwide media attention that it has received, we are now getting hundreds of time share companies contacting our offices asking us to train their staffs. This is a good investment, even though it is $15,000 USD for four days of training. Another word of advice is NEVER EVER buy or step foot on a SUNSET RESORT property. We were doing a tour in Cancun Mexico and you would not believe the video that we have of the management and their comments about Americans. Read my review in Conde Nast next month.
Time-Shares - Consolidated Resorts/Tahiti Village Las Vegas- SCAM-Robert Paisola Responds

Question I purchased Tahiti Village timeshare on Saturday, 6/16/07. During sales presentation was told value up 20% in past year, last chance to buy at this price - going up in 2 days, only 13 timeshares in Las Vegas w/little probability for more to protect interests of hotels on the strip that relied on gaming proceeds from its patrons. Also told that purchasing "holiday" week (New Years) we could rent our unit for $1000+++ per night. Presentation was interrupted several times when new owners "popped a balloon" & "spun a wheel" for "free trips" & when I expressed interest in Tahiti, sales agent said I would win Tahiti & Australia regardless of prize I won in balloon & wheel. Then the closer said he liked us so much he was giving us 6 "free" trips. When we returned from our free Vegas vacation (2 days after we signed, leaving only 3 days to change our mind, a weekend/no postal service), I discovered the 6 trips were given to "everybody" & they were hardly "free". We would pay $18 per person/per day (document preparer simply said $18 a day for incidental charges) and we had to fly using their travel agent at an undiscounted rate, free cruise was buy 1/get 1 at brochure price. I went to Consolidated Resort website to obtain pricing & resale info & my account number would not work. I checked EBAY & found the unit I paid $50,000 for $14,999, buy it now! This was Saturday, 6/23, Nevada gives 5 days to cancel. I called Consolidated Resorts, told them I had purchased the previous Saturday & asked what it would cost to opt out. They said it would cost nothing, simply fill out the cancellation form & send certified mail. I sent overnight mail Monday, 6/25/07 (post office closed 6/23&6/24). Sales agent called 6/27 & I told her my reasons for cancellation, specifically I thought this would be a good investment with probable positive return. On 7/16, phone call from Consolidated asking if I received denial to cancel letter (as of today, I have received nothing) because I canceled after 5 days. I stated I would not pay & they said it would go into foreclosure & affect my credit, I said "fine". I contacted credit card company to dispute $5000 down & $333 closing. Fortunately card expires 8/1/07 & payments were to begin 8/4/07. Also, I activated credit card that day, but never signed it - possible loophole in my favor? Should I contact a lawyer? I have a personal contact that's a lawyer in Vegas - would that be better than California attorney?

Thanks for taking the time to write to me on your issue with Consolidated Resorts.
I have spent some time thinking about your sitation and I believe that there is no court in the country that would hold you accountable for this mess. The fact that this happened in Las Vegas makes me very mad, as I have done MANY seminars there and I have dealt with the companies that sell there.
So, based on the articulate method in which you presented your question and the fact that you have the cancelation letter, proof of delivery, ALONG with the EBAY DATA (Print this out) I would do the following:
Dispute the charge in full as product never received as explained.
Send the resort a copy of the backcharge letter
Call the resort and give them one more chance to release you. RECORD THE CALL if your local law permits.
Then Cancel the card for good and ask for a replacement card.
Ask for a pending investigation credit in the amount of 5000 plus the 3000
Also send the bank a copy of this letter from me, so that they know that this is a national issue. They will most likely put merchant account hold on the processing account based on your allegations.
I have seen this before and this game that they are playing can cost them millions.
If they tell you the dispute is valid, demand that you go to arbitration per the Visa and Mastercard Guidelines.

Bottom Line to Consolidated Resorts (THIS IS FOR GOOGLE)--- REFUND THIS CUSTOMER now!, and if you wonder what will happen should you fail to push this into foreclosure, just go to any search engine and type PLAYA DEL SOL and you will see what lengths we go to to protect our clients.
