Finally, what we are doing has never been done before. I am a Time Share Sales Trainer, and the fact that this subject and profile has received the worldwide media attention that it has received, we are now getting hundreds of time share companies contacting our offices asking us to train their staffs. This is a good investment, even though it is $15,000 USD for four days of training. Why, because, RCI, Interval and their members know that there is no better way to train their staff and to cover their butts than to hire me, Robert Paisola to train them, that way they do not end up on this site, and believe me there are thousands of organizations that sell timeshares that monitor every word that I write to you. That is just THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
Finally, I want all of my readers around the world to know that I visit hundreds of properties around the world and I have found a property in Cancun Mexico called THE ME HOTEL. It is formally known as ME BY MELIA. I have spent almost 60 nights there in the past 3 months working on my new book. I have met the owners and have a relationship with this property. They go above and beyond at every moment. This is 4 star resort. So, if you are looking for a place to go that is safe, modern, new, and a place that I personally recommend, then the Me by Melia in Cancun Mexico is at the top of my list.

Another word of advice is NEVER EVER buy or step foot on a SUNSET RESORT property. We were doing a tour in Cancun Mexico and you would not believe the video that we have of the management and their comments about Americans. Read my review in Conde Nast next month.
Question I have been an owner at Westgate Lakes since 2000. While I have had some good times there I have had many bad experiences. I have been asking for the past few years to get out, but Westgate will not. This last trip (4-2007) really took the cake. I wanted to know that since the property went to a floating system for everyone, why we still had to pay fees. Its $130 to change your week plus $500 to change your season and $250 if it is a holiday week. The sales person said that the owners got together and agreed to this for flexibility. I told her that I could not see any owner agreeing to pay that much extra plus their mortgage and maintenance. It just doesn’t make sense. So they said I had 2 options. Since I own a 3 bedroom, I can pay them $10,000 and I will have a true “float” and pay no fees or I can pay $11,000 and upgrade to a 4-bedroom that will automatically be in the floating system. They also explained that since my building is getting older that they could charge up to $1200 a year for Maintenance and taxes. Now the new 4-bedroom is paid bi-yearly. So if it went up to $1200, I would only be paying $600 a year which would be cheaper than I pay now. That doesn’t make any sense. Since I have a deeded week they cannot just change me over to a floating system, hence the $10,000. Now he further states that since I own a particular week that it will be difficult and maybe impossible to sell or rent because it’s that 1 week. Now I never heard of someone trying to sell a product and tell you that the previous product you bought from them was crap. But since it is a timeshare and you are locked in for all eternity, why not. They have nothing keeping them from telling you anything they want since you are now stuck. So I complained and sent an email to their corp. They contacted me and told me the sales staff will say anything and that most of what they said is not true. Now on hearing this I said I want out. Westgate says they can’t do that. So I said what are you going to do for me? There really isn’t any benefit from complaining. She said she would help me out when it came time for exchanging weeks or booking my reservation. BIG DEAL. I want out. I don’t understand why they cannot give my money back less fees. It’s a win win for them. They can sell it again and probably a higher price since its been 7 years since I purchased. I get this same treatment almost every time I go there. I thought once you buy they leave you alone. I created a website www.westgatelakes.biz to see if there are others out there like me. I am still waiting for a better search result, but I don’t know what else to do. Is there any more I can do???

First of all, I want to thank you for writing to me about your issue with Westgate Lakes.
As you know, you are not the first person that we have had to assist with these people.
At this point the only option is for you to email me your information and I will add you to the victim list. This is getting crazy and we have been contacted by attornies wanting to file an action on behalf of the owners of Westgate Lakes.
This is a dead horse, and I wish that I had a copy of the call where they told you that the sales people would say anything to make the sale. If you had that, you would almost certainly get a full refund.
