Question
Hi Andreas -

I have a one bedroom Westgate Town Center odd years timeshare in Kissimmee Florida.  I don't have a mortgage on it and I own it free and clear.  I'm up to date with the maintenance fees but I have been having such a hard time selling and donating it to charity.  No one would even take it for free.  I'm thinking of just not paying the maintenance going forward.  I have excellent credit history and don't want this to ruin my credit.  I'm hoping that Westgate would just take back the property, sell it a and leave me alone.  How likely is this going to happen and do think the non payment of the maintenance will show up on my credit report even though it is not consider a foreclosure?

Thanks for your time.

Answer
Yes, it most likely would show up on your credit.  Take a look at eBay - you may be able to sell it with a starting bid of $1.  I would try that route first.  Then you might call Westgate and see if they will take it back - unlikely.

Other than those options, there isn't much you can do.
