Time-Shares - Westgate timeshare florida

Expert: Andreas Rossler - 10/9/2007

Question
Hello, my wife and i own deeded 1 week, at westgate vacation villas in florida, for over 10 yrs and would like to know what would happen if we stopped paying maintanence bills, we live in England so would that affect any credit rating over here in England. thanks for you time.

Answer
I can't be sure - it might.  What they will do is sell the account to a collection agency and the agency will try to collect on you.  Now, if they know you are in England they may sell it to an England based collection agency - I'm not sure.  If you are in that kind of situation - you might try eBay.  It can be sold, or at the very least you could donate it.
