Question
We signed contract for time share in Myrtle Beach on 10/17/07.  Do we have a time period to cancel since we
are having second thoughts?

Answer
Since we are talking about Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the cancellation period is governed by South Carolina's laws.  Here is the cancellation period:

"YOU MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT WITHOUT PENALTY OR OBLIGATION WITHIN FIVE DAYS AFTER THE DATE YOU SIGN THIS CONTRACT, NOT INCLUDING SUNDAY IF THAT IS THE FIFTH DAY, OR THE DATE YOU RECEIVE THE DISCLOSURE STATEMENT PURSUANT TO Section 27-32-100, WHICHEVER OCCURS LATER. IF YOU DECIDE TO CANCEL, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE SELLER IN WRITING OF YOUR INTENT TO CANCEL BY SENDING NOTICE BY CERTIFIED MAIL, RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED, OR BY ANOTHER VERIFIABLE MEANS, TO (NAME OF SELLER) AT (SELLER'S ADDRESS)."

Basically, you are good to go.  Today is the 19th, so you have three more days to send that cancellation notice.  I would do so immediately as suggested above.  Do not wait until the last day.  Good Luck!
