We're planning on buying the 09' lexus rx350. I know premium fuel is recommended but it can use regular too but the fuel efficiency will go down.
I was wondering if anyone knows the MPG on regular fuel and MPG on premium?
If the premium is more efficient, then it will only cost a negligible amount more, but if not then it wouldn't be worth it.
Thanks:)
Answer Hi Jessie
Expert Danny provided you with some excellent links.
It is funny just the other day on the news the topic came up about using premium VS regular, it was recommended to stick with Mfg guidelines, but it would be ok to fill with regular once in a while, you loose a bit of performance that will be unnoticeable to the average driver, but to continue using only regular gas will result in carbon build up and poor performance.
As for knowing MPG " reg " VS " prem " I dont think anyone can measure a true answer becauce as time passes according to experts the performance will affect fuel consumption.
