Question Can you tell me, or point me to someone who can, the legalities of a non resident (Australian) arriving in Alaska on a tourist visa, buying a Motorhome, registering and insuring it, and driving it down through Canada and the US and selling it there approximately 6 months later. Would this be possible if I had an address I could use in Alaska. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Glen
Answer Hi Glen
Interesting question, my son a few years back went to Australia bought an old VW camper Van, did the whole coast line and was able to sell it for same price after a 3 month journey " I think I thought him well LOL " however the problem here is every State has different rules and regulations has to what can be and not be done.
Let's start with you doing some homework about the Alaska DMV, here is a link on my website for study and contact http://www.usedcartips.org/DMV.html I note when you click on Alaska the link has been transferred, but it's there for you to locate.
After study and making contact with the DMV about issues, should you be confused with reply's get back to me, and I will go one step further to help you out.
