Expert: Ray Paulsen - 3/14/2009

Question
hi, im wondering if ishould buy a 1986 firebird or not ?
it has 160,000 miles on it and the sellers price is 1400 dollars.and it had a vocational school paintjob done last year.thats about all i know about it.my zip is 46970. thank you for your time.

Answer
Hey, Mike

$1400, don't buy much, but still a lot of hard earned coin not to be wasted.

I suggest you visit my website  http://www.usedcartips.org/  and navigate to " test drive " if still of interest " navigate to  mechanic " web page.

If seller will not allow these steps, walk away. It may cost you $100. for an inspection but it will be $1300, saved should the bird turn out to be a lemon. good luck
