Tips on Buying Cars - New Vehicle Purchase

Question
Hi Ray on June 9/09 I signed a contract at a local Dodge dealership for a new/demo truck at approximately PM. I felt under duress at the time and under a lot of pressure by the tag team method.
On June 10/09 at 9:30 am in the morning I was back at the dealership asking that the deal be cancelled ( less than 24 hours ) and was told that the financing had been approved and the licence was being changed right then and I could not cancel. Prior to signing I was told that there were no hidden costs , and that particular equipment was on the vehicle ( by 3 staff members). That night after calming down and reading the contract many times I found there were in fact hidden costs not disclosed prior to signing. On June 10 I requested a copy of the equipment on the truck (as the window stick was conveniently missing) and discovered that the particular piece of equipment was not on the trucks claimed.
Could you please advise as soon as possible as the final day is June 17th 09 and I would like to get out of this deal because I feel I was misled. Thank you K0M 2B0 On.

Answer
Hi Earl

Some dealers will play hardball, you signed a bill of sale and got a yellow copy ?, if all conditions on bill of sale will not have to be adjusted, such as interest rate, term, down payment you stand to loose your deposit. you have not signed the finance contract as yet, and if any adjustments are made on contract that is not same as bill of sale, you will be intitled to a refund.

Sorry to say, under duress - pressure will not change anything, you signed a bill of sale that you should have read all equipment listed. Buying any vehicle is a process of steps, i wish you would have had the opportunity to study my website prior to the fact     http://www.usedcartips.org/

In Ontario if you have a dealer complaint you can contact   http://www.omvic.on.ca/   but with the information you provided I don't see you getting in the clear unless you can prove misrepresentation.
I am located on same turf as you, if you like leave a phone number with best time to call, and I will see if I can help you further, make sure you check the make private box, or you phone number will be public.

Ray
