Question My husband and I are semi-retiring next year. We are very active and looking
for a vehicle that we can use as a camper and carry bikes , canoe and skis etc.
We need all WD and good clearance, and good mileage as well. Any
suggestions?
Answer Hello Jill,
Thank you for your question.
Based on the information that you mentioned, I can recommend that you look at the following vehicles:
(a) Honda Pilot
(b) Toyota Highlander
(c) Toyota 4Runner (more trucklike than the Highlander)
(d) Nissan Pathfinder
(e) Hyundai Santa Fe
(f) Hyundai Veracruz
My personal favorite is the Honda Pilot...very refined vehicle and very good quality.
I mentioned various vehicle sizes since I am not exactly sure how much room you need for camping. I also avoided the large SUV's, which would provide you the most room but not the best mileage.
If you have any more questions or would like to me to be more specific based on some additional information from your side, please let me know.
