Question
Hi. My Zen (2003 model) tyres need to replaced. They are the original tubed tyres. I intend to go for tubeless tyres. What are the options available and which is the best per your experience? And regarding alloy wheels, are they really worth and what are the options in this category? Thank You.

Answer
Vinod,

I am not sure you have figured this out, but the wheels is what is the limitation for tube / tubeless.

Alloy wheels are more expensive, generally lighter, but less durable than steel wheels.  The main advantage is how they look.  There is a minor advantage that lighter tire and wheel assemblies ride and handle better, but MAJOR weight changes result in only MINOR improvements.

So the "Are they worth it?" question is one you will have to answer for yourself.

Options:  Since I am in the US, I can't tell you what is available in your area.  You should work through a local retailer on this.

I probably have prejudices because of my work experience.
