Question I'm trying to remember a song from the early 70's that had the lyrics "if you ever come back this way again I want you to know that you've got a friend in me. Thanks for the smile, you're a sunshine lady.
Answer Hi Terri,
The song you're looking for is "Thanks For The Smiles" by Charlie Ross, a soft rock and country artist. The song only reached #61 on the Billboard 100, but reached #23 on the Adult Contempary chart in early 1975. There's not much on Ross on the Internet, but I was able to find out that Ross played bass and was a disc jockey. He was also a former member of a band called Eternity's Children in the 1960's. The song itself doesn't appear to be available on CD, so you may want to check ebay or a local vinyl shop for a recording. Here's a site with the song lyrics: http://www.top40db.net/Lyrics/?SongID=75270&By=Year&Match=
