Towing Issues - Towed while in Club legally parked.

Expert: Richard - 11/5/2009

Question
(This Happened in West Palm Beach Florida)
Last Night i was towed while i was in a club, parked in there parking lot legally. The reason I was told I was towed was because the (parking lot enforcement company)(not the police) saw us walk over to another club not a part of that parking lot. We parked far back in the lot so one of my friends could walk over to the other club but we went and were in the club that we were parked at when i was towed and i have a receipt from the club we were at with the time we ordered on it. I've paid and reclaimed my car is there anything i can do? can i complain? can i get my money back?

Answer
Document everything, and keep the receipts...

Talk to the property owners, and the management of the club involved... See what they will do...
Property management does contract out with parking enforcement agencies all the time to control the parking. It is more effective than having a business employee there doing it.
And most property management firms are good at the job, but once in a while there are mistakes.
If the property owners and club management do not do anything, then talk to the parking enforcement office people.

If you get no where, then you always have the Small Claims court system to use.
