I wanted to rent a car carrier to tow my VW bug when I moved East.  Budget, U-Haul, and Penskey would not rent to me because I had a 2003 Explorer.  They were firm about it and said the only way they would rent to me was if I purchased a different car.  I believe I remember them telling me it was just the 2003 and 2004 models.  I don't remember the reason.
