Towing Issues/Neutral or Park When Using a Wheel Lift

Am kinda late to this thread, but shows they still get read years later, the info lives on! I have done quite a lot of towing, and have a mechanics background.

I was browsing this question to see what others say on the subject "to Park or Neutral" when on a dolly? I came to the conclusion that it works ok either way, but the element of added safety with being in Park nudges me that way. The notion that the tranny, differential, CV joints, etc will somehow be harmed does not consider the much GREATER abuse of daily driving as one other here also explained. If you keep the wheels tied down properly, there will be minimal movement in the driveline. I like the idea to wait until the chassis is lifted and strapped in, to place in Park.
