Question 2001 Camry 160,000 miles. Trans serviced 155,000. When hot, trans make rough bump when shifting in/out of overdrive (i.e. up hills, accelerating, etc.) 3rd solenoid?
Answer A solenoid malfunction would turn the check engine light on.Did this start after the transmission was serviced, if so, make sure the correct fluid was put in, it's either DexronII/III or toyota type IV fluid, remove the dipstick and check it will have the fluid type imprinted on it. At the same time check the fluid level with engine warmed up while at idle.
