Question We took my 1999 cameryLE in for an oil change to Pep Boys, as there are no close dearlers here I trust. They came in and said my release pull to open the hood, was broken. I know it wasnt broken a few months ago and no one has tried to open it that I know of. We brought it home and my son tried to open it but said he thinks it broke or came loose at the latch under the front of the hood. Is there anyway we can get to it. We tried everything we could think of but nothing would work.. HELP !!! surely there is some way to get to it??? Please let me know, if not then I will have to go take it to one of the dearler, Im 70 years old and really dont know anything to do.. B
Answer The only way I know of is to get to the 10mm bolts that connect the latch to the radiator upper support, by removing these bolts the hood may be opened with the latch still attached to the hood, this is not exactly easy it takes some tools to do this and lots of perseverance.
