Subject: over heat

Question
i have a 1994 camery with v-6 engine car over heats after drivine a 1/2 mile ony code is egr,  could that make it overheat,  i'm thinking radiator or water pump what do you think

Answer
An EGR malfunction will not make it overheat. There may be a coolant leak, has it been checked for that, do you have to add coolant frequently? The water pump, unless it's leaking is almost never the problem. Try replacing the thermostat first, if that doesn't help I would suspect a partially restricted radiator may be the cause.
