Question QUESTION: Hi Ted,
My 1991 toyota camry stopped in the middle of the road with all the warning lights displayed on the dash. A few minutes later it started up again. It starts with no problem.
What can this be? computer problem defective? How would I check the computer/test it and where is it located on this car? Is it easily replaced?
Thanks in advance
Stan
ANSWER: Have the battery and alternator tested, is the check engine light on now? Is it a V-6 or 4clinder?

QUESTION: The battery and alternator tested fine; no check engine light on. It is a 4 cylinder. Please help. I'm afraid to drive this car.
Thanks in advance

Answer The most common problem with stalling and restarting problems are that the coil inside the distributor is cracked or leaking or the distributor itself, if the coil checks good and has no cracks or current leaks to ground then I would recommend just replacing the entire distributor.
