Question
I have 1997 Toyota Avalon, the gear is not moving so I can't shift between the D, N etc.... I have a scanner and I got the code OB 500. I need to know what is the problem and how to fix it?

Answer
Check to see if the brake lights are working, if not check the "stop" fuse in the fuse panel under the cover on the lower left of the dash.Check the gauge fuse as well, there is a blown fuse or a malfunctioning brake light switch that won't let the shifter come out of park, you can remove the small cover on the shift console and depress the button inside to release the shifter so you can drive it.
