Question
QUESTION: I have a 1997 Camry XLE, the sun roof will tilt up but will not slide open/back, I removed the glass, there is a part that slides to the rear,I guess this connects to the cable or motor. This sliding part is broken both sides where it  connects to an assembly that connects to the glass. What is the sliding part, where can I get it and how do you install it.

Thanks
Jaime

ANSWER: The sliding roof cables are available only at the toyota dealer unless you can locate a complete moonroof at a salvage yard, the repair procedure for either is way to involved for me to give instructions on how to do it so I would suggest looking for a repair manual either in print or online.

QUESTION: Hello again,
Thanks for the getting back to me. I have lifted the moon roof out. The sliders move back and forth on both sides but where the sliders connect to the mechanism that slides the moon roof back is broken. I ordered the part but still do not have the instructions to remove the motor and cables so I can replace the broken slides. Where can I get the instructions to replace the sliders and reconnect them to the cables. The repair manual I have does not have the moon roof.
Thanks for your help
Jaime

Answer
I need to know whether the car is US made or Japan. Check the first two letters of the VIN#, it should be either 4T or JT and then I'll get back to you, I may have some information for you then. See if you can include your email address in a follow up.
