Question
99 solara 3.0 auto. 110,000 mi. will not shift from drive 2 to drive 3 when cold. i changed the fluide and clean the screen no change as soon as it warms up a little shifts great. thank you

Answer
The transmission clutches may be worn or a drum seal is leaking causing loss of line pressure, the pressures can be tested using pressure gauges designed for this purpose but in most cases when there are shifting problems such as this the transmission needs to be replaced, by the way was the check engine light on or is it on now?
