My 2001 RAV4 shut off, nearly... I was able to park it while it sputter and shut off and die. I checked for fuel at the fuel line and there is none. So I suspect a fuel pump or related issue. I understand the only fuel filter is in the tank. With 330,000 miles, the fuel pump is a good bet. I will check for power at the fuel pump connector under the back seat first (it may only show for 2 second after the swk is turn on or during cranking). I don't think it is the rear impact swk problem. Also, I have had a constant code saying my car is missing at all cylinders. Sounds like low fuel pressure for some some time now.

If you have water in your fuel tank, this may cause your problem too. Hope this helps.
