No.1 Question - If you step on the gas pedal does it slowly pick up speed or hesitate especially when turning from a stop? When you let the gas pedal go does it seem to pick up speed? Lack of power is more noticeable when going uphill. Recheck the ignition timing as it maybe late. Reset it to correct timing from the VECI label under the hood.

Who is answering this?

The corolla transmission is one thing. The differential is another!

If a manufacturer list one capacity and another, it does not mean "add them up".

This is the worst advice I heard.

Please do chech the differential oil. It is generally 80W-90 gear oil.

The transmission is generally ATF of some tipe: Dexron/Mercon; it will say recommended for Toyota.

Transmission oil is red and very thin.

Differential oil is very thick(more than motor oil).

The drain plug for the differential is under the engine more to the driver side( firewall side of engine, not radiator side). The inspection/ refill plug is close to that one but higher up.

If your gear oil runs out, say goodbuy to your differential. Brakes will start dragging( yes, better believe it), car will start pulling to one side, and eventually, something will seize inside the differential( clanking noise).

Seized spark plugs are easy! Just remove the boot, soak the plughole with WD40 overnight then try carefully to turn it while cold. Do not use  silicone based penetrating oil- it will foul up the O 2 sensor later.Good luck!
