For the 2007 Toyotas, at least the Rav4, the odometer must be in the "Trip A" postiion rather than the ODO.

For 2007 Camry, hold trip meter A, turn switch off, then back on, notice counter display shows ____, but is counting down, main req light flashes, then goes off, reset now complete!
